I’m not going to start off by saying something that sounds racist, its just a weird thing that has been in my head as a fan of anime and stuff:

Whenever I see a cosplayer who is doing a character that is, and here’s where I say it isn’t a race thing, a polar opposite skin color, I feel like, uh…I’m a bit upset by this.

Here’s the thing though; the thought of a hot, attractive, black girl cosplaying Kairi from Kingdom Hearts is freaking hot…but it seems like I’d only want to be with her OTHER than in front of fans of the series. I could go on about if she was my girlfriend I would support her love just as much, but I couldn’t take her seriously at a con.

Don’t get me wrong, if the character in question was someone like Korra from the Avatar series being played by a white girl, I’d have the same opposing opinion that she shouldn’t do that.

Be who ever you want to be, that is my dream… but when it comes to questioning official character design, its like selecting different color pallets in a fighter; I’ll love to fight with you, but you aren’t my preferred taste.

Just an opinion; hopefully one that isn’t too offensive.

First of all, if you get upset that someone is a cosplaying a character opposite of their skintone you need to get off the internet and examine your life choices and decsions. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GETTING UPSET FOR!?! A person decides to cosplay a character not their skin tone, a person literally decides to do something that has no physical or emotional affect on you and you get upset???

Also the misogyny in your post, dear lord I hope you never get a girlfriend be they cosplayer, black, white, or whatever. Because they deserve so much more than some asshat who would look down at them for cosplaying a character not their skintone, in a hobby that consist of people wearing silly costumes.

And yes, I understand it’s your opinion, I’m just telling you how stupid your opinion is.
